Zero Tolerance Policy

Our Commitment to a Safe and Respectful Practice

Five White Street Surgery is committed to providing a safe, respectful and supportive environment for our patients, visitors and staff. Our doctors, nurses and reception team work hard to deliver quality care, often under significant pressure, and they deserve to do so free from fear, intimidation or abuse.

Zero Tolerance for Abusive Behaviour

We operate a zero-tolerance policy toward any abusive, aggressive, threatening or discriminatory behaviour directed at a member of our team, whether in person, over the phone, by email, or via social media. This includes, but is not limited to, shouting or swearing, verbal or physical intimidation, threats of harm, and racist, sexist or other discriminatory remarks.

What This Means in Practice

Patients or visitors who behave in this manner may be asked to leave the premises immediately. Depending on the severity and frequency of the behaviour, we reserve the right to refuse further appointments, remove an individual from our patient list, and, where necessary, involve NSW Police.

We Are Here to Help

We understand that illness, stress and difficult personal circumstances can make interactions harder, and our team always aims to respond with patience and understanding. We simply ask that all communication with our staff remains respectful. This policy exists to protect the wellbeing of our team, so they can keep providing the best possible care to our community.
